Welcome to Construction Cashflow Community!
In this community, we discuss how construction can be made great again (if ever it was!) by promoting fairer contract terms and improving cash flow through supply chains.
Our aim is to put power into the hands of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to say no to onerous terms and develop their own terms to support the growth of their businesses and the wider construction community.
Construction is a field bed for insolvencies - this has to change!
Many consider that passing risk down the line, withholding payments without justification and using supply chains to fund investments further up the line are fundamentally flawed.
A movement has started to create wealth that flows through the supply chains and into communities whilst also supporting the aspirations of developers.
The construction industry punches well below its weight when it comes to wealth creation. To this end, I select my guests who are actively supporting change that will see construction become the greatest wealth creator for our sector, our communities and the economy.
With 95% of construction carried out by small businesses, these are the ones we need to support to generate change resulting in a more sustainable community.
In the podcast, I discuss with my guests how they got to where they are now, what’s their story, what motivates and inspires them and what can be done to improve cash flow, level up risk and help the sector not just survive but thrive.
Construction is an industry where risk is far too often passed down the line to those businesses that are not best placed to carry the burden. Contrary to traditional thinking, disproportional risk transfer is actually detrimental to all parties.
Why am I passionate to see change? I believe disproportionate risk transfer and poor cash culture have human consequences, leading to insolvencies, and mental health issues, putting families and communities under stress and tragically leading to an unacceptable level of suicides in the industry.
